If there’s one thing that makes me remember a holiday – it’s the view from our hotel room. I LOVE having a view. I love waking up facing the city we’re exploring, I love going out onto a balcony and getting lost in a view before we’ve even stepped a foot outside.
Here are some of the best views I’ve ever had, and the hotels that served them up….
The Armani Hotel in Dubai
Located inside the Burj Kalifa (the World’s tallest building) the Armani Hotel is sleek, stylish and the views were unbelievably breath-taking. It’s like you’re living in the clouds. And you can’t truly appreciate how high up you are, until you realise the tiny buildings way below you are skyscrapers themselves.
Element Escapes in Queenstown, New Zealand
These are actually holiday apartments (rather than a hotel) and Pad and I lived here for 6 months – waking up to this view every morning. This is my favourite view in the whole world.
The Traders Hotel, Kuala Lumpur
This luxury hotel in Kuala Lumpur, directly overlooks the most iconic buildings in the city. We were so in love with the view when we stayed there, that we slept with the curtains open each night. It was too magical to miss out on.
It was actually called The Langham Place Hotel when we stayed there 3 years ago – but they’ve since rebranded. We treated ourselves to a senior corner suite, which was advertised as having wrap-around, floor to ceiling windows. We couldn’t have imagined how amazing the view was, and when we first got to the room we just went and stood by the window for like half an hour. Hong Kong is absolutely hypnotising at night-time, and we were definitely under the spell.
I’ve stopped in many NYC hotels, and this is hand down my favourite. The room wasn’t big, but it was cosy, warm, stylish and had the most beautiful view of central park. The photo below doesn’t even do it justice to be honest. Every morning, waking up to that view and seeing all the hustle and bustle of the tourist and workers below made me feel like we were in a movie.
This hotel actually faces the hotel mentioned right at the top of this list. And the view is of the Burj Kalifa and the Dubai Fountains. We had a stunning wrap around balcony, so on one side you have the Burj and fountains, and the other side is the city and desert. It was magic – you didn’t know where to look.
