It’s a great feeling when you realise that summer is finally coming. Some years it can seem to take forever to get here! But, before you can jump outside and enjoy those rays; you need to consider a few maintenance jobs that will help you to enjoy every moment of your summer.
De-clutter
The start of summer is a great time to take a look at all the things in your closet and dotted around your home. You’ll be surprised at how many things you’ve collected over the winter months.
Now is the time to be ruthless and get rid of anything that you don’t need. You can pass it onto friends, send it for recycling, or simply discard it. The important question is when did you last use it and is it really necessary to keep it?
Check For Pests
Next, it’s time to complete your spring clean. Start at the top of your home and work your way through. This does more than just clean each room thoroughly. It also gives you the opportunity to check for any damp patches or signs that you’ve had a pest infestation over the winter. If you notice either of these things call an exterminator and a plumber!
This is the perfect time to get issues sorted and take note of any additional maintenance tasks you need to undertake.
Tidy Your Yard
In order to use your garden, you’re going to need to tidy it. Start by clearing your seating area and then work on what you can see from there, working your way around the garden until it is all finished.
You should be paying particular attention to overgrown flower beds, weeds, untidy bushes, and pests. If you see signs of pests in your garden contact a pest control expert; you don’t want them getting into your house.
Check Your Wardrobe
The beginning of summer is also a good time to take a look at your clothing collection and get rid of items that you no longer wear. There is no point in keeping them ‘just in case’.
Besides, summer clothes are in the shop and it’s a great time to treat yourself; you know you’ll feel great and ready for summer in a new top…
Pressure Wash
The pressure washer should be your best friend at this time of year. You need to blast your decking or patio; this is the most effective way to remove the winter grime and leave it looking fantastic again.
You’ll also need to turn the pressure washer onto the sides of your home. Again, this is the fastest and easiest way to clean your house and make it look fantastic.
You may not want to put the pressure washer on your windows but giving these a good clean is another early summer job that you’ll want to get done.
Moving Furniture
A great way to make your house feel fresh and you to feel invigorated is to move the furniture around in your rooms; you’ll be surprised at the difference it makes.
