When it comes to Instagramming food, us Brits give the rest of the world a run for their money. But, uploading endless shots of avo on toast isn’t just the only thing which makes for a good Insta pic – restaurants are quickly cottoning onto the fact that some bloggers are booking places based purely on the interior, and how good it looks on their grid.
Millions of tourists flock to the UK each year, and according to a study in 2018, one of the most popular reasons why is for vibrant city life and urban attractions. And guess what; London is no exception.
Cue my guide to the 5 most Instagrammable foodie spots in the capital.
Sketch
This Mayfair hotspot is famed for its pink interior and notoriously kooky toilets. It probably tops the Instagammable list for foodie and lifestyle bloggers everywhere, and boy-oh-boy does this place know it.
David Shrigley’s artwork adorns the walls, and the booths resemble something out of a 60s hair salon. But, the toilets are probably the most unusual part, as each cubicle is like an egg/alien capsule. With an interior like this, it’s no wonder so many of us ladies spend so much time in the bathroom.
Dalloway Terrace
Nestled down a side street in Bloomsbury, Dalloway Terrace is beautiful, elegant and very English countryside.
The outdoor terrace changes with the seasons, with the stunning floral adorning the walls turning from crisp white in winter, to pastels in spring and bright sunny shades in the summer.
This place is a must-visit for any keen Instagrammer, plus, its cocktails and afternoon tea menu is pretty tempting, too. They don’t take bookings in advance on the terrace itself, so get there early to secure a good spot to photograph those smoked salmon finger sarnies against the floral background.
Aubaine
Wisteria hanging from the ceiling? Check. Clean, white interior? Check. Outside tables for staring wistfully into the distance shots? Check, check, check.
Aubaine has a few spots around the city, including one inside Selfridges. But they all have something in common; the food is really, really decent (check out their bottomless brunch), but not as decent as the interior, which makes for a super girly Insta background to that Eggs Benny.

Darwin & Wallace collection
It’s hard to choose just one from this cute collection of restaurants, which by the way, serve up some of the best brunches around.
Situated across the west of the city, including Chiswick and Ealing, each has a different name, but the interior is so modern and chic it hurts. Think dark green velvet sofas, brass lighting, IKEA plants, and pops of pink. In other words, it’s an Instagrammers dream, with the food coming in a close second, too.
Bob Bob Ricard
Two words – Champagne buzzers.
Yes, unless you’ve been living on Mars, it’s likely you’ve seen shots of this in your feed. The roaring 20s is the main theme at this Soho celeb haunt – there’s lots of gold, lots of wood, and lots of bar stools. The glasses scream retro, and each table comes with a ‘Press for Champagne’ buzzer – genius. Get that filter ready!
