This is Pad and I.
We’ve been together nearly 5 years. This year we got engaged.
We’re kinda goofy. Self-confessed geeks even.
We like watching Walking Dead, and deciding who would survive the longest (it’s Pad. I would be a goner in the first few days). We have a ‘Friends’ quote for literally every occasion and we ‘play-punch’ each other whenever we spot an abandoned shopping trolly in the street.
Don’t ask.
We have lots of stupid in-jokes like this, as most couples do I guess. You know, habits and routines you make-up over the years. Things only the two of you do.
Taking photos of our thumbs was one of those things. We’ve done it ever since we met, ever since our first holiday together.
They aren’t great photos. They’re not artistic. They’re not even lit properly in most cases.
But they tell our story. They show where we’ve been and how far we’ve come. Quite literally in some cases.
So I thought I’d share them. Enjoy!

And some times when we didn’t want to do a thumbs up – but still wanted to follow tradition…
Like in New Zealand when I injured my finger and couldn’t make a thumbs up. Which resulted in Pad doing a thumbs down.
Or this other time when our car radio broke and we had a 5 hour drive to do…
And then there’s time when we wanted to be in the photo along with the thumbs… because you know. Faces are nice too!
Or sometimes there were occasions when one of us had to do the thumbs-upping for the both of us.
I couldn’t even include all of them, I think I missed about 20 off the list. But they just keep coming and let’s hope there’s many more.
Here’s to us, Pad.
I love you
