We all already know the cliched romantic locations around the world… The Eiffel Tower, The Empire State Building, The Maldives, etc. But what about those gorgeous romantic locations that are lesser known and more unusual? Here’s a few of my favourites…
Capella Pedregal
Capella’s recently launched “The Suite Life” program is like having your very own luxury beachfront resort. If romance to you is secluded beachfront luxury – then this is going to tick all your boxes. Mexico is magical and you’re gonna love it, but find yourself a bespoke hotel, rather than the tourist traps.
Lover’s Bridge, Ukraine
This bridge has been a silent witness of many marriage proposals and is one of the most romantic places in Kiev, Ukraine. Many a love story was started here. It is also a place where amorous poets come to write their love lyrics on the railings, and their love stories. As a symbol of real love couples come here to hang locks with their names, or tie ribbons on the banister of the bridge. Thus, they swear to love each other forever.
The Dessert, Dubai
Dubai is a pretty romantic city, but getting out of the city is where the magic really begins. The golden sand and fire-red sunsets are picture perfect, and they are the things romantic dreams are made of. Imagine watching the sunset on the warm sand, hand in hand with the one you love. Gorgeous!
Jukkasjärvi, Sweden
Constructed afresh each winter, the IceHotel (which you may have spotted in James Bond movies and many documentaries) is just as much an art project as it is somewhere to spend the night. It’s something truly special and is situated in Swedish Lapland, 200km north of the Arctic Circle and it really is a once in a lifetime experience. If you can catch the Northern Lights too – then you’re in for an even bigger romantic surprise!
