Spring rolls around and suddenly all the dark colours in my wardrobe seem like the most unnecessary items that ever existed. I banish them all the the ‘storage closet’ never to be seen again. Until October time, that is.
I put my winter boots in there too whispering fond words of goodbye…
“I love you and leave you old leathery friends, for you shall not be needed for many months” I say to them, as I shut the door and shut off the lights. Then, after these difficult goodbyes, I string my tights up from the ceiling and burn them in celebration (just kidding of course. My landlord would never allow it).
I LOVE SPRING.
I love dresses. And bare legs. And sunshine. And I LOVE pastels.
So, to celelbrate the turning of the season, here are some gorgeous pastels dresses. Some I already own, some I plan to own very soon, and some (because of my DD boobs) I will never own, but can still dream of doing so.
Modcloth…
Modcloth have grown-up style dresses that are still playful and cute, which I adore. I love the blue one on the left for city breaks and blustery spring days, and the other two are adorable for when you want your dress to match you ice-cream.
Lindy Bop…
Wiggle dresses crossed with pastel shades create this strange balance between sexy and cute – so I’ve included two of my favourite wiggles from their site just for good measure. I have these, and they are SO flattering. I also love the pink polka-dot one in the middle, just because it’s very 1950s and I love that whole era.
Collectif…
My favourite vintage-repro brand, these guys do the best and most flattering vintage-y dresses. I own all three of these and they’re all gorgeous. The middle dress I have in about 6 different patterns and prints, and it’s my go-to dress all through spring and summer.
Chi Chi London…
This brand is a bit more pricey but I love the elegant cuts and beautiful colours they’ve chosen this season. They don’t go for ‘typical shades’ instead they’ve got slightly unique shades, like the minty green below. I’ve actually chosen my bridesmaids dresses from here, and they are mega beautiful and the bridesmaids look incredible in them.
Pin Up Girl Clothing…
Let me count the ways I love thee, Pin Up Girl Clothing. The dress in the middle is one of my favourite dresses I’ve ever bought – so I couldn’t not include it on this list. The other two probably wouldn’t suit my body type – but would look amazing on someone else (as they do on the models!), so I wanted to include them!
