Planning a wedding was so much fun, and my favourite part was definitely organising all the little details. I’ve always loved little gifts, and cute, quirky decor – so I wanted to include lots of little details like that on our wedding day.
Before our actual wedding day, our house was like a messy storage space for wedding details (see photo below).
But now onto the nice photos… Here are my favourite details from our wedding day…
I searched so long for the perfect earrings. I wanted something simple, but special. I ended up getting these simply dangly ones from Aldo, and they were so perfect. They were visible in photos (which is what I wanted) but they were’t too heavy or too much.
I did buy myself an ‘traditional’ pair of wedding shoes early on in the wedding planning process, but quickly realised I wanted something a bit different and a bit more unique. These glittery pink shoes from Irregular Choice (called Ban Joes) were so perfect, comfy and cute. I’ve since bought them in 2 more colours….
I adored my flowers. They weren’t actually what I imagined – the funny thing about wedding flowers, is that you never know exactly what you’re going to get – but I loved them. I loved the pink and the mint green, and it fit perfectly in with the best of the day.
Napkins and table decor
I wanted our guests to feel like they were having dinner at our house, rather than dinner at a wedding, so put lots of details on the tables. I bought special napkins, I put temporary tattoos on the tables, and also random fun straws and cocktails stocks people could play with.
My fake peonies
The flowers on our tables were fake! I bought them from Amazon, and was so happy with them. It saved us hundreds of pounds, and we can keep them forever – which is kinda lovely.
Another thing we did on the cheap! The sweet shop thing cost about £15, and the jars and sweets were all from poundland. But I love how it turned out!
We had three cakes, two giant sponge cakes, and a tower of donuts. I loved each one, these were definitely my favourite detail from the day, hands down.
