One of my favourite TV shows is the US Office… And bit I’m always most jealous of? The party planning committee! One of the best bits of working in an office (and one of the bits I miss the most) is working with awesome people, and using any excuse to celebrate or make people feel special.
If you know someone who is leaving work, you’ll want to make sure you do something special for them and give them a proper send-off! Here are some ideas…
Idea 1… A card (of course!)
No work send-off would be legit without a leaving card. A thoughtful card, with messages from everyone in the company is a lovely start to the send-off, and shows the person who is leaving that people will miss them! Card Factory have a nice range of cute cards, funny cards and sentimental cards.
Idea 2… A cute slideshow
If your colleague has been at the company for a while, making a slideshow or Instagram story for them, is a cute idea. You can share all your favourite photos from work parties, Christmas parties or events for them to remember.
Idea 3… A lunchtime treat
If someone is leaving, there’s no better excuse to visit your favourite local restaurant and spoil your colleague. One last meal out, is a chance to remember all the good times, swap contact info, and maybe share a drink or two and arrive back at your desk a little late!
Idea 4… Something for their new job
If you know what job or company they’re headed to after, then why not buy them a gift that’ll help them in their new role. It’s a thoughtful idea that means they head into their new job prepared!
Idea 5… Drinks after work
If you can get a group together for after work drinks, then it’s a nice idea to say goodbye to someone at your favourite local pub once work is over. It means they get a proper farewell, and it means you don’t need to rush saying goodbye either!
