Over the last few months I’ve been watching more and more make-up tutorials and actively trying to improve the way I look after my make-up, and also the way I apply it.
I definitely got stuck in a rut with make-up, applying it how I always have (since age 14) and forgetting that there are real techniques and products you can learn and use, to make your face actually look better.
As well as learning to apply foundation properly (using a sponge and a brush and stuff) I’ve always been playing with eyeshadow much more. I’ve always loved my eyes and making the most of them – but my day-to-day style was just mascara, and maybe a flick of eyeliner. However, seeing some of my favourite vloggers working amazing eyeshadow on a day-to-day basis, inspired me to start putting that same effort into my own routine.
Tanya Burr, I’m looking at you. Damn you and your flawless, on-fleek eyeshadow.
So far I’ve invested in a few mid-range eyeshadow palettes, and have loved experimenting with different colours, smokiness and drama. The whole ‘taking make-up selfies’ thing is something I need to get more practise at, but here’s a few examples…
Now that I’m pretty sure I’m addicted, I’m looking to invest in some more expensive palettes. Here are some I’ve been lusting over…
Naked Smokey Palette
I love a smoky eye – and these colours are just perfection. Especially the black and grey in the centre <3
Naked Nude Palettes
Nude is always better! These are perfect for every-day make-up.
Charlotte Tilbury Palettes
I’ve had a bit of a beauty-crush on all of Charlotte Tilbury’s make-up recently… but especially her gorgeous eyeshadows.
Too faced natural palette
This is another gorgeous natural palette. I think I’m veering a little more towards natural shades because I can wear them more often, and these shades are so pretty.
