With my wedding on the horizon (July!) I’ve been paying so much attention to my skin-care and the condition of my skin. I want my makeup to look perfect on the big day, and I know that the better my skin is naturally, the better the make-up will look, and the better the photos will be.
In January (let’s put it down to all the food and sugar in December) my skin was looking awful. It was probably in the worst condition I’ve seen it in a few years, mainly in my biggest problem area – my chin. I desperately wanted to get it sorted so began looking for products that promised the quality and care that my skin (very urgently) needed.
I figure if I start getting my skin cleared up now, and into a good routine with a good set of products, then I can maintain that up until the wedding.
The product I wanted to try the most was Emma Hardie’s Amazing Face range. I’ve heard several other bloggers wax lyrical about it, including Anna Saccone – who always has flawless makeup.
The Moringa Cleansing Balm (photo below) comes in a large tub and includes a cleansing cloth, which I’m pretty sure contributes to the amazing results just as much as the product. The tub costs £38, so I’ve been using once every 2 days (to help spread it out and make it last longer) and I’m now at the two week mark.
I can feel the immediate effects of the cleanser straight after using it – my skin is so soft and touchable, I was going up to my boyfriend and demanding he “touch my face” so he could see how good it was. Judging by how much I’ve used at this stage, I think the tub will last another 5-6 weeks. So that’s a total of 8 weeks usage for the £38 paid.
After applying the cleanser, I then put on the Protect and Prime Cream. This is one of the nicest and softest primers I’ve ever used, and (unlike others) it isn’t greasy, heavy or waxy. A big issue I have with some primers is that they seem to wax over your skin, clogging your pores – but this one doesn’t do that at all.
It’s also SPF 30 – which is incredibly good for your skin, especially if you spend a lot of time outdoors, or you live in a hot climate.
Now on to the amazing part. Here’s my before and after.
The photo on the left is two weeks ago before I started using the Amazing Face range. You can see how red and inflamed my skin is, and how greasy and uneven the skin tone is. My skin even looks a bit dirty in places, even though this was right after showering.
On the right you can see what my skin looks like 2 weeks after using the Amazing Face products. This is without any make-up, concealer or foundation. The difference is ridiculously good, and I’m so happy with the results. I can still see the shadows of my problem areas, but they’re much less visible and 100% more manageable.
I think the answer to the questions “would I recommend it?” is pretty obvious. Yes, I definitely would.
It’s a big investment to make in yourself (the price-tag isn’t small) but with such an important event coming up, I want my skin to be the best it can be.
To be honest, my confidence has gone up so much since my chin has improved (not to mention how much better my make-up looks and how much longer it lasts on my skin) that I’ll likely invest in this product every few months from now on. And it won’t just be a one-off for the wedding.
If I know a product is going to work this well, and make such a big difference, the price is something I will make work. Because you can’t put a price on the confidence that comes with having clear skin.
